Union County United Travel Teams

Union County United is the competitive soccer program of UCYSA. It is designed to develop player’s technical ability and tactical understanding of the game through competitive play. The travel teams are participating in the Idaho District 3 Select league in Boise this fall. They play teams from Idaho, NE Oregon, and eastern Washington, and they travel to Boise, Pendleton, Hermiston, Pasco, and Walla Walla.

There are separate U12 and U14 teams for boys and girls. Each team will travel to Boise three or four times for Saturday doubleheaders. There will be additional games, home and away, against teams from Eastern Oregon and SE Washington. The team roster sizes are limited, and players are selected for the teams through an evaluation process at team tryouts. Anyone who is age eligible is welcome to tryout. Players in the 7th and 8th grade, or those who will turn 12 before August 1st, play on the U14 teams. The U12 teams are for players age 10 and 11. The registration fee is $65 for the fall season.

All prospects must register and provide a copy of their birth certificate at tryouts.

Recreation Soccer Philosophy

The aim of the rec soccer program is to provide an opportunity for kids to learn soccer skills, have fun, enjoy friendships, get some exercise, and instill a passion for the game of soccer. It is all about helping kids stay healthy and active.

Recreation soccer is not competitive soccer. It is not about winning games, but simply the joy of playing them. There is no official score keeping, league standings, or playoffs. Instead, there are 650 kids enjoying a game, learning new skills, and making friends during the beautiful summer evenings of July and August.

UCYSA is a local not-for profit volunteer organization serving the Youth of Union County, Oregon.
